A bit of chain maille before the sewing

I have a few sewing projects I want to finish off soon. There is also one major sewing project that I need to start which will probably take me an entire year to do. But before all that, I want to share a bit more chain maille with you.

Here are a pair of Kingscale bracelets I finished recently. One's in turqouise, gold and silver. The other is in turqouise, gold and black.

What do you think?

Which do you prefer?

I think the sun must be tired after working so hard over the weekend. It's gone away for a bit of a rest today and left us with an overcast and slightly chilly day to contend with. Nevermind. I hope it comes back soon.

Hope it's sunny where you are, friends.

  1. Beautiful Ady! They're both great combinations but I prefer the one with the silver - got a feeling I'm being very conservative, but that's just the way it is!. I'm intrigued by a sewing project that may take all year - are you making a quilt?!

  2. I was about to say the silver one, then looked again and wanted to say the black one. I think they are both lovely and would be in a bit of a pickle if I really had to choose.

  3. Thank you Fiona T. (I just realised there are 2 Fionas commenting on this post!) Yes, I am making my mother's family handprint quilt. I'm going to do it panel by panel, quilt the panels (as it's easier on my sewing machine) and then join the panels with sashing strips. 13 handprint blocks plus 12 in-between blocks = 25 blocks in all!!! Eeeekkk!! Need to be done by end November when she comes.

Thanks Fiona D! I have a hard time deciding between the two as well. :-)

  4. Hello Ady! I was referred to your blog by one of my readers after I attempted some chain maille and asked for guidance. Wow, did she send me to the right place! I love every single piece you've done so far. I can't wait to try some new (to me) styles!
